This magical watery pond scene is an abstraction loosely based on the waterlily pond where I take my dog walking in St Leonard's Gardens in Sussex.  The water can look very dark sometimes, which gives the reflections a surreal and dream-like quality.  I love seeing the flash of orange as fish go by, the motion is suggested here in painterly form.

The underlying theme is also about memory - the elusive and every changing quality of them.  The ripples of white represent new formations of memory and the overhanging willow suggest the effect of time, and having both vertical and horizontal movement in the piece also relates to the way memories morph over time.

This piece can be bought alone, or as part of a triptych (please enquire for this).
