This painting is an abstraction of the walk at Coast Guard Lane, the coastal path with cliffs overlooking the English Channel. As in so many of Julia Swaby's works, the elements take on an intermingled dimension, so that the sea, sky, rock and earth are floating in various strata. This walk is particularly meaningful to the artist.
