'Vinterlig' is Norwegian for wintry.  This magical oil painting references the Scandinavian fjords, such as the Geiranger.  Whereas the peacock blues and greens of the water would naturally flow between rockscapes, they are inverted here for abstraction, with the central body of the work being constituted by snow drifts. This juxtaposition makes the colours explode whilst maintaining the theme of a winterscape.
