The digital image of this was sponsored by a bible ministry; the commission being to produce a cover for their course on the Book of Ruth.  To the upper left of the painting, the dark skies are parted by a blast of the Holy Spirit falling upon Ruth, here depicted as a receptacle of the light on the left hand side.  There are mountains in the work, which represent the flight she had to make to a new land.  She undertook the journey out of loyalty to another woman, which is why the mountains are covered in gold mist.  Whether you are biblically minded or not, the work is about communication with the divine, earthly and heavenly journeys and human bonds forged in honour.
