'Kindness' is an abstract expressivist painting, rendered in oils. Although ostensibly a semi-abstract based on a sunset over a rural landscape, this work is a metaphsyical painting about the nature of kindness. Kindness is represented here as a celestial wind, coming from above. As part of the Fruits of the Spirit collection, kindness is a virtue and comfort gained as we are drawn more deeply into the divine nature of God. Kindness brings with it a new vision - when kindness is in our hearts, we see differently, with more warmth, thus the apricot sunset. Although most landscapes are painted in landscape format, this one has been executed in portrait form to accentuate the spiritual gust of kindness as a wind at the very centre of the work.
