Impasto decorative work with gold veining, which catches the light to offset the pastels.  Although it initially looks fairly simple, there is a complex of colours and movement, rendering a contrast between the subtle, organic tones and the deep texture created by palette knife work.  The sides are painted dark gallery grey (deep edge) to give the painting an added contemporary element.
