In this work, one sees primarily the traditional rendition of a Japanese floating garden - softly blended with fantail brushwork and liquid clouds over the foliage. Then the work is challenged by the contemporary prints of orange verticals. The palette also references this soft then sudden shift: from apricot to orange and this is the sense of the work: the relationship between the known and the new.
